… fbb chose to ignore the Breezers operated by GoAhead’s MoreBus centred on Bournemouth and Poole. Since the bloodless takeover of the doomed Yellow Bus (ex Bournemouth Corporation Transport) the number and extent of these routes has increased somewhat.<\/p><\/div>\n

… because, depending on how you count them, there are actually 8!<\/p><\/div>\n

We begin with 30 and 31 Jurassic Breezer<\/span>\u00a0…<\/div>\n

<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
… which have their focus at Lulworth Cove with its iconic Durdle Door.\n
<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
The 30 runs from Swanage via Wool (for rail connections) and Lulworth to Weymouth.\n
<\/a><\/div>\n

It is not always (not ever?) open top but still represents a splendid ride.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/div>\n

The 30 is supplemented by the 31 shuttling from Wool to the Cove.<\/p>\n

<\/p><\/div>\n

We now move to Swanage where, in addition to the 30,\u00a0we meet 35<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0Campsite Connect<\/span>, plus 40 and 50 Purbeck Breezers<\/span> …<\/div>\n

The 35\u00a0<\/span>runs to a selection of “Tourist Park” destinations …<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/div>\n

… which seems to be an attempt to overcome the negative associations of a “Caravan Site”.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/div>\n

Service 40 is the traditional inland bus route from Swanage to Poole.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/div>\n

This runs via Wareham and Corfe Castle and offers possible connections along the route with the Swanage Railway.<\/p><\/div>\n

The shorter route in distance is the 50 which uses the celebrated bottleneck, the Swanage Ferry.\n
<\/a><\/div>\n

There is a bus every 30 minutes.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/div>\n

Which takes us neatly to Poole and Bournemouth …<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/div>\n

… where we encounter the 60, 70 and 80<\/span>.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
60 Harbour Breeze<\/span>r runs from Rookley Park and Poole to Sandbanks Ferry …\n
<\/a><\/div>\n

… which is where the well-blessed have their little summer cottages.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/div>\n

fbb has decided to stay put at fbb mansions in Seaton – it is just too much hassle to move to Sandbanks!<\/p><\/div>\n

Which leaves 70 and 80 Beach Breezers<\/span>.\n
<\/a><\/div>\n

This incorporates the “traditional” Bournemouth Corporation open top service 12 …<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
… between Alum Chine, Bournemouth and Hengistbury Head. The 70\/80 offer a 30 minute service much the same as ever was.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The 70 starts at Rookley Park (with the 60) …\n
<\/a><\/div>\n

… and is joined by the 80 at Alum Chine. Both routes then run to Hengistbury Head.<\/p>\n

The 80 doubles back and trundles via Christchurch to Mudeford and on to yet another Holiday Park,<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/div>\n

Gray Line\/Golden Tours had a similar operation in 2022.<\/p>\n

But More Bus is definitely King of The Breezers in 2023.<\/p><\/div>\n

But there is a Pretender laying claim to part of the Breezer Throne.<\/div>\n

There is no doubt that the Bible accounts of the gift of God’s “Holy Spirit” a k a “The Helper” represents a weird experience.<\/div>\n

Jews and Gentiles converted to Judaism, and some of us are from Crete and Arabia\u2014yet all of us hear them speaking in our own languages about the great things that God has done!\u201d Amazed and confused, they kept asking each other, \u201cWhat does this mean?\u201d<\/span><\/div>\n

But others made fun of the believers, saying, \u201cThese people are drunk!\u201d<\/span>\n
<\/a><\/div>\n

One of those who had just encountered this weirdness, Peter, addressed the curious crowd who had heard the noise ‘like a mighty rushing wind”.<\/span><\/p><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Peter began by stressing that they were NOT drunk – it was too early in the morning!\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

He then went on to quote an Old Testament Prophet called Joel. This is part of what he had prophesied about 500 years previously.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

Your sons and daughters<\/span><\/div>\n
will proclaim my message;<\/span><\/div>\n
your young men will see visions,<\/span><\/div>\n
\n
\u00a0and your old men will have dreams.<\/span><\/div>\n
Yes, even on my servants,<\/span><\/div>\n
both men and women,<\/span><\/div>\n
I will pour out my Spirit in those days,<\/span><\/div>\n
and they will proclaim my message.<\/span><\/div>\n
I will perform miracles in the sky above<\/span><\/div>\n
and wonders on the earth below.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
And that is how the message of Christianity spread back then and, amazingly, what is on offer today.<\/div>\n

Some “Helper”, eh?<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
On a very personal level, your author can confirm that “The Helper” is a powerful, personal, positive and purposeful part of his life – the miracles may be small, but miracles thay are.<\/div>\n
