Multimodal is gearing up for its 16th year as the must-attend event for shippers, retailers, manufacturers, wholesalers, importers, and exporters wanting to meet up with leading companies offering the latest logistics and supply chain solutions.

Hosting every logistics sector, the three-day show between 13th and 15th June 2023 at the Birmingham NEC will offer a unique opportunity to make valuable face-to-face contact with new prospects and existing companies.

The event is free to attend, as are the 60+ conference sessions. Visitors can register via the website at multimodal.org.uk

Last year, it was attended by over 9,000 visitors, and this year, registrations are tracking some 50% up which suggests it should receive well over 10,000 attendees.

Shippers and cargo owners at the free-to-attend show improve their businesses by finding ways of moving their products more efficiently and by meeting new suppliers.

The Multimodal exhibition will include hundreds of companies showcasing the latest innovations in supply chain, including G&W, DP World, COSCO, Port of Tyne, Malcolm Logistics, K+N, Schmitz Cargobull, Maersk, Swain Group, ONE, Maritime Transport, and Mediterranean Shipping Company.

Commenting on the interest to date, Multimodal 2023 Event Director Robert Jervis said:

“Multimodal is unique in bringing all sectors of the supply chain industry together, so facilitating additional space and giving more support to exhibitors has made a positive difference to this year’s event. The industry is keen to meet at in-person events following lockdown and wider Covid restrictions, and the numbers of both exhibitors and those registering to visit are testament to this.

The Multimodal seminar programme will focus on supply chain sustainability and resilience, looking at ways to harness the power of people, tech, and innovation to future-proof logistics.

Multimodal is working with The British International Freight Association (BIFA), Logistics UK, Institute of Export and International Trade (IOE&IT), the Rail Freight Group and the UK Warehousing Association to ensure that all conference sessions are relevant, topical and packed with hard-to-get insight.

Multimodal is also partnering with Google to offer vital skills training and mentoring to visitors to the show.

Multimodal is also hosting two networking events, the industry standard Multimodal Awards on the 13th of June at the Vox Birmingham, and the Multimodal Mixer sponsored by DP World on the 14th, a chance for all to mingle in a more relaxed atmosphere.

The Multimodal Awards 2023, which recognise excellence and best practice across the logistics industry, include six voted for, five judged, and two nominated categories.

Thousands of readers of the Multimodal newsletter will vote for best in breed across the modes, as well as best port and best 3PL.

The Best Technology Company of the Year is added to the Innovation in Port Safety Award, The Shipper/Partner of the Year Award, The Young Logistics Professional of the Year Award, and The Multimodal Sustainability Award, which are judged by an independent panel of industry experts. For 2023 we have introduced a split in two of the Awards categories to make this equitable to our SMEs during the voting process.

“This year, as well as celebrating companies across the modes, we will be shining a light on businesses who are committed to creating long term value, taking into account how they operate in the ecological, social, and economic environment,” said Jervis.

“We also want to recognise tech innovators who are doing so much to drive our industry forwards.”
