FDC Holdings, a logistics specialist based in Preston, has purchased its HQ building from Harworth, its former landlord. The 330,000 sq ft unit, situated on Four Oaks Road in Walton Summit, includes 20,000 sq ft of office space. The company has said it plans to invest \u00a32m on a range of building improvements and capital equipment. TPN The Pallet Network\u2019s northern hub also takes place at the site. The acquisition brings the firm\u2019s total space to almost one million sq ft across three sites in Blackpool and Preston.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is an important step for our business,\u201d said FDC Holdings chairman Peter Allen. \u201cOwning the building gives us the control we need to invest in more client-facing infrastructure and resources. We make a commitment to our clients about service levels and having control of more of the moving parts that allow us to keep that promise is vitally important.\u201d<\/p>\n
The \u00a325m turnover business provides palletised distribution, haulage, storage, and fulfilment services across a range of sectors, including the food and drinks industry, NHS, construction and on-line retailing. Its HQ is located within a mile of the M6, M61 and M65 motorways.<\/p>\n
Oliver Foster of Savills\u2019 Manchester office handled the sale for the vendor. Legals were handled by the Preston office of Harrison Drury for FDC Holdings, with Freeths in Liverpool advising Harworth.<\/p>\n
