CILT (UK) is pleased to announce the entire programme for its annual conference, titled \u2018Future Capabilities,\u2019 as well as this year\u2019s Next Generation Conference Chair. The conference will take place on June 8th at Coombe Abbey in Coventry.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s conference, themed \u2018Future Capabilities\u2019 will feature speakers discussing the skills and competencies required to thrive in the\u00a0logistics<\/span> and transport profession. The difficulties of developing technologies and decarbonisation will be debated throughout the day. Topics covered include sustainability and ethics; technology and innovation; and skills and competence.<\/p>\n

Professor Sarah Sharples, Chief Scientific Adviser at the Department for Transport will present the morning keynote speech. Also speaking in the afternoon will be Matt Lindley, a change management consultant, human performance factors specialist, and diversity keynote speaker.<\/p>\n

For the second year in a row, CILT(UK) searched for a Next Generation Conference Chair to lead its annual conference and Ryan Walters, Management Graduate at Great Bear has been named the Institute\u2019s Next Generation Conference Chair for 2023.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m delighted to chair this year\u2019s CILT (UK) Conference. I want to thank everyone who has given me this chance, and I can\u2019t wait to host the event. I feel extremely honoured to be able to introduce each panellist and speaker throughout the day, listen to them, express my thoughts at the end of their respective sessions and interact with the audience,\u201d said Ryan Walters, Management Graduate at Great Bear.<\/p>\n

Ryan is an active CILT(UK) member who participates as a Generation\u00a0Logistics<\/span>\u00a0Ambassador as well as a CILT PRIDE Forum member. While at university, Ryan also participated in the NOVUS scheme and was chosen for this role by an esteemed judging panel.<\/p>\n

Ryan impressed the judging panel as he conveyed his knowledge, passion, and commitment to the future of the\u00a0logistics<\/span>\u00a0profession. Among the judges were Stephanie Ezra, Next Generation Forum Chair and previous Conference Chair, Rebecca Hicks.<\/p>\n

This position which was open to all members who do not possess the CMILT or FCILT grades and the role is intended to nurture rising talent in\u00a0logistics<\/span>\u00a0and transport. The appointment of a Chair is expected to continue to inspire young individuals in the business while also bringing new insights and ideas to the annual conference.<\/p>\n
