Southern Cranes and Access is targeting \u2018major fleet efficiency and productivity improvements\u2019 following the introduction of a new integrated camera telematics solution. The Sussex-based crane hire and powered access specialist\u00a0has rolled out Webfleet, together with MANTIS Live cameras, across its 91-strong mixed\u00a0fleet\u00a0of vans, cranes and heavy haulage transport.<\/p>\n
Southern Cranes\u00a0worked closely with AES\u00a0Fleet, an official Webfleet partner, to deploy the solution.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe wanted to ensure we had the best tech infrastructure to support our commitment to our value proposition of reliable, flexible and efficient customer service standards. The introduction of the Webfleet platform has enabled us to streamline and enrich our digital fleet management capabilities, and we are already realising significant productivity and cost-efficiency gains,\u201d said Transport Manager, Tony Flegg.<\/p>\n
Notably, vehicle downtime and administration has been reduced with\u00a0Webfleet Tachoshare enabling\u00a0tachograph data to be remotely downloaded from the company\u2019s HGVs and shared directly with\u00a0FTA Vision software for analysis.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe previously had to try and catch the fleet drivers on site when available to manually download data and remain compliant,\u201d explained Tony.<\/p>\n
The fully connected vehicle camera system has offered greater asset visibility and security, with cranes often out on site for weeks at a time.\u00a0The company\u2019s cost control strategies, meanwhile, have been boosted by the ability to monitor and address inefficient fuel usage and driving performance with greater accuracy.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe solution is robust and easy to use and it will help raise the bar in the efficiency of our day-to-day operations as we set our sights on continued business growth and the highest standards of service delivery,\u201d Tony concluded.<\/p>\n
