\nWe are looking for an exceptional transport professional with commercial and technical experience to join us in the new role of Director of Transport for Liverpool City Region.<\/p>\n

The Liverpool City Region Combined Authority brings together the region\u2019s six local authorities Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton, St Helens and Wirral \u2013 to tackle the big issues that matter to us all. Working together and using our devolved powers and funding, we are creating a fairer, stronger, cleaner city region \u2013 where no-one is left behind.<\/p>\n

Delivering a modern, effective transport system defines great international city regions and is fundamental to their success, connecting people to work, education, public services and leisure, keeping our communities connected and helping our economy to thrive.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re investing hundreds of millions of pounds to deliver the Mayor\u2019s vision for the London-style integrated transport network that our region needs and deserves.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re delivering a new fleet of trains on our Merseyrail network, new stations, zero emission hydrogen buses, a safer 212km cycling network, and smarter tickets, meaning that we are well on the way to delivering the Mayor\u2019s vision.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s an exciting time to join us in this critical role. Last October, the Mayor took the decision to take back control of our bus network. You\u2019ll lead the work to implement the new bus franchising model for the city region, progress the ambition for full devolution of the regions rail network, and lead on the overall commissioning of a fully integrated, multi-model transport network.<\/p>\n

You will also ensure that the Liverpool City Region has a high performing, customer focussed, integrated and sustainable transport system that delivers for our people, businesses and institutions eery day, enabling a prosperous and inclusive economy.<\/p>\n

You will need to be commercially astute with the exceptional technical skills and experience expected of a senior leaders in transport, along with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders and partners, building trusted partnerships within and without the city region, striving to achieve the same goals and aspirations.<\/p>\n
