Engineering Director, Stagecoach West \u2013 Gloucester<\/strong><\/h2>\n

We have a unique opportunity to join Stagecoach West as our new Engineering Director, based in Gloucester and covering Gloucestershire, Bristol, Swindon, Oxfordshire and the famous Oxford Tube.<\/p>\n

You will need to live within the geographical area we operate in, and if you don\u2019t, we will help you with relocation expenses if required.<\/p>\n

Here at Stagecoach West, we operate over 440 vehicles from 9 depot with workshops, and 4 outstations, across Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Swindon & Bristol.<\/p>\n

This isn\u2019t a desk job, it\u2019s about being out and about, engaging with your teams to lead and develop them, in maintaining our vehicles, property, plant and equipment, and to support our extensive network of bus services in the region. This is a critical role within the company and some of your key responsibilities will include:<\/p>\n

Supporting our safety culture and driving those key values and behaviours.
\nLeading the deployment of our decarbonisation strategy.
\nSetting and delivering high standards of vehicle reliability and presentatio.n
\nDeveloping your depot engineering teams, so they have the knowledge and skills to deliver those reliability and presentation standards
\nWorking collaboratively with stakeholders, such as Trade Unions and Local Authority public transport teams.
\nEngaging your team to embrace automation and modern engineering practices that will supplement our business objectives and improve efficiency.
\nAlways ensuring that we are complying with the law and appropriate regulations.
\nEnsuring great day to day communication between the commercial and operational teams and the rest of the company functions.<\/p>\n

You will have experience of running large scale engineering departments, ideally in a vehicle\/plant multisite environment. Finally, what better place to live and work than the stunning Cotswolds. This role is based in the Gloucester, but you can live in surrounding areas.<\/p>\n
