Independent parcel carrier Yodel has joined forces with InPost, one of Britain’s largest out-of-home parcel locker network, to provide final-mile delivery services.
The partnership will see Yodel handle hundreds of thousands of parcels through InPost’s ‘Locker-to-Door’ service, delivering items from InPost lockers directly to customers’ homes. Yodel said recipients can monitor their deliveries in real-time via the InPost mobile app.
The collaboration aims to strengthen InPost’s existing customer offering amid growing demand for their services.
The announcement comes as recent Yodel research indicates a surge in consumer-to-consumer commerce, with 54% of Britons aged 16 and over now selling items on online marketplaces.
According to Yodel, the sector has experienced remarkable growth, with C2C volumes increasing by 200% over the past two years.
Mike Hancox, CEO at Yodel said: “This partnership with InPost represents an exciting new step in expanding our presence in the fast-growing Out of Home (OOH) sector.
“InPost’s locker network provides choice and flexibility for customers who are sending and receiving parcels.
“The partnership combines InPost’s OOH expertise with Yodel’s decades-long legacy of last mile parcel deliveries.
“As second-hand marketplaces increasingly grow in popularity, so too will the demand for customer-to-customer parcel deliveries.
“By joining forces with InPost, we can continue to respond to market demand and provide a wide-ranging service offering, meeting all customer needs.”
Neil Kuschel, CEO at InPost UK added: “This announcement builds on the significant commercial growth that InPost has achieved in the UK.
“We are committed to developing additional services with the capacity to deliver them to win in the UK.
“As well as serving the B2C market at a faster rate as more customers discover the benefits of delivery from and to our lockers.”
